Joseph Silovsky has been performing, constructing and collaborating in the theater world since 1990. He recently premiered Send for the Million Men (with Victor Morales and Catherine McRae) at HERE Arts Center (December 2014) and brought it to Mass Live Arts (2015 Great Barrington, MA). Prior performances include: The Jester of Tonga at PS122, Binghamton First Night Festival, and elsewhere (2007- 2009); and The Reddest Dirt in Oklahoma, Abron’s Art Center (2015) and Tonic’s Little Theater (2006). Joseph collaborated with Victor Morales as Tutto and the Ragman (2001-2005), as well as with Radiohole (2003-2013), The Builders Association (2000-2010), Lucky Pierre (1998-1999), HMS (1995-1997), and the Cook County Theater Department (1994). Silovsky received a BFA from Bard College 1991 and went to graduate school in performance art at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Joseph has received residencies at Yaddo, DPI, LMCC and Mt Tremper Arts, and was a member of HERE’s Artist in Residence program (HARP) from 2012-2015. He has received grants from Art Matters, the Henson Foundation, the Puffin and the Axe-Haughton Foundations.
