Seven Meditations was developed after The Living Theatre’s arrest under the Medici dictatorship in Brazil in 1971. Created in 1973, the piece has toured the world with hundreds of performances, and most recently was the centerpiece of the company’s Know Your Rites tour across America in the summer of 2016. It is a meditation/ritual play based on Sacher Masoch’s six houses of bondage, with a seventh mediation on liberation, with texts from Judith Malina, Julian Beck, and many prominent anarchist and radical philosophers like Bakunin, Malatesta, Eldridge Cleaver and others.

This event is part of a performance series from 6:00pm- 8:00pm, followed by a short discussion.
Start time is approximate.
